Ravens continued their
impressive form with a good win over our “bogey” team Moor Green.
Historically we out play Moor Green and more often than not finish the season
above them in the table. Some how they always seem to beat us twice in a
season so it was nice to finally put that right.
We started with team
that beat Oaklands but an un-easy start saw us under pressure. The MG
forward always causes us problems and today was no different. We did get
the 1st goal when Man of that Match Rob took a great 1st touch before thumping a
volley into the roof of the net from outside the box. MG were level within
seconds when poor defending allowed the equaliser.
We began to play some
decent football. Sonny was cutting through the MG midfield and Halloran
and Dylan were livening up. Soon we fell behind to a typical corner.
Steve came for a corner but didn’t quite get it and were were 2-1 behind.
From this point on we
dominated the game. Graham went into defence to marshal the forward and
fit again Henner's went into midfield. Our football was impressive and
Dayle was linking up with the forwards at every opportunity. Rob was still
surging forward and Henner’s added a hunger to our game as he was biting into
tackles at every opportunity.
Our equaliser can when
more good work from Sonny allowed Dylan to equalise from close range. The
came the best move of the game to put is ahead. Jacko found Dayle who in
turn released Dylan. His measured pass put Halloran in and a neat finish
made it 3-2.
We were never really in
any danger in the 2nd half. We had more chances. Dayle missed a good
chance and Ryan almost scored just after going on. Halloran stretched the
keeper and Ryan’s cross led to Dylan's 2nd goal.
We kept the ball well
in the 2nd half and some of the things we did in training were taken out onto
the field. The back four again was solid and Cardall, Barber and Jacko
kept things tidy.
A good win and we have
good momentum going into a tough game away at Oaklands. They are sure to
be out for revenge after we ended there long time unbeaten run last week.
Now that we have Henner's
and Mark available we have the option to make changes to freshen things up.
We are starting to see
glimpses of this sides potential to have an outstanding season. Long may
it go on.
