Well wasn’t that a whole lot better.  I am struggling to think of too many times we have played that well.  I am amazed and disappointed for the lads that we didn’t get the win that we deserved but also delighted at the way we approached the game.  We gave 100% per cent effort from start to finish and we bossed every area of the park.

Injury to Scott meant that Mark Williams would move into centre back and he did brilliantly well for his 1st game there.  Dean and James gave their best performances of the season and Michael commanded his troops from the middle.

I think moving Alex inside to play with the again brilliant Henry was key to our success.  We won 75% of the midfield ball.  As a team we have never headed the ball so much.  I was very pleased with that.

Matt Barber was back to his best and CJ came in and did a great job down the right hand side.  I think Alex is ever improving and looked very strong and more confident.  I would give a special mention to Henry today who I thought captained the team brilliantly.  I could hear him shouting even more than I was and when I got home I really had lost my voice for a few hours.

It has become quite obvious that our team loves a battle.  Even our supporters.  The game we won against the Dragons was hard fought and players and supporters responded to it.  The Robins game was much friendlier and I never really felt any of us got into it.  Today was just a battle.  Blood and guts, and we came out on top.  Our supporters won that battle to.

Another special mention to Matt Doyle who has missed the start of the season after having his appendix out.  He and his dad Clive were there to cheer us on again and Clive even had a few words with their dodgy linesman and helped us get our free kick.  So well done Clive!

Ok, the goals.  We had already hit the post and bar before Graham fired us back level at 1-1.  Graham then raced onto a through ball to put us 2-1 ahead.  James Barnes scored his first goal for us with a superb free kick and then Phil got the late equaliser after good work from Graham.

All in all a great performance.

Next week is the cup and our 1st game at our new pitch so we can look forward to that and hopefully the beginning of a long cup run.
