Finished On a High

Subs

I was really pleased with could finish the season with such a bang .  Slowly but surely things have come together toward the seasons end and although there have been a few blips, more often than not in the past two months we have performed to a good level.

This game was never going to be a dire end of season bore, as Coldlands needed a point to guarantee they would stay in the division.  The starting team picked itself, as it has been our strongest team for a while now.

We dominated the game from start to finish really. Winning every area of the pitch.  Our defence and Ryan has been given a much deserved break in the past few games as our midfield and front men have taken charge.

I have to give a special mention the partnership of Mytton and Halloran upfront.  We have been looking for something for a while and I decided about 6 games ago that they would be given a run in the team.  The progress and potential was there for all to see.

That takes us on to the 1st goal.  Alex picked Hal out with a great through ball and he finished with ease.  Hal then returned the favour with a well timed pass for Alex to mirror our 1st goal..2-0.

Dylan and Paul had other chances in a 1st half that was bossed by the Ravens.  Mark and particularly Matt Barber had run the show in midfield.

The 2nd half was similar.  The midfield was in control.  Ably supported by Henner’s who was joining in well.  The forwards and wide men continued to look like scoring every time we went forward.

The goals came eventually.  Al smashed in his 2nd of the game and Dylan scored the goal of the season after running about 70 yards, beating player after player, before linking up with Alex and slotting it into the net.  Great goal.

So 4-0 and along with the win against the Dragons it was a nice way to sign off this season.  The rest of the info will be in the end of season report so I will stop it here.

Well done lads, an encouraging display.
