Being 2-0 down after 10 minutes against any team in the world is giving yourself a mountain to climb. Let alone against Castlehurst who have one of the best defensive records in the Central Warwickshire league.
After our players had realised their Christmas was over and that they were involved in a match, the next 30 minutes weren’t bad. I even thought we were the better team. Phil and James gave us good width and Scott and CJ were trying to get forward. Niall had finally woken up and had started to put the dangerous number 9 out of the game. When Graham got our goal from CJs through ball I really thought we had a chance.
As usual though we never really got forward enough to support Graham and Sonny, and our passing let us down badly.
The late goals we conceded were due to our pushing forward looking for an equaliser. Now that we all realise Xmas is over, maybe next week we will actual play from the whistle.
