The Ravens returned to Smithswood again this week, this time at Smithswood's ground due to a waterlogged Olton pitch. The game was delayed by almost an hour due to the cup match between Smithswood Under 9's and Sutton, which went into extra time.

Olton Ravens were without dynamic midfielder Lenie who missed the match due to chicken pox so Mark was forced to re-shuffle the midfield.

The game started brightly for the Ravens when an early free kick after a foul on Jordan produced an early chance. The Kick was taken by Jonathan who's shot, although going wide was deflected off Robert's head and went just passed the post. Five minutes later Jonathan also went close when he fired in a shot almost from the half way line which dipped wide.

Smithswood then began to get a grip on the game and after 8 minutes an attack produced the first goal. A big kick from defence found the Number 7 James Noonan unmarked, who made no mistake shooting past Ryan.

Virtually from the kick off Smithswood attacked again down the right flank, a good shot was well saved by Ryan's knees but unfortunately the ball ran back into the path of Shawn Webster who made no mistake, 2-0 to Smithswood. Just before half time a corner from the right almost saw Smithswood increase their lead when a superb header came in from the edge of the box which just flashed inches wide of the upright.

A half time switch by Mark and Steve saw captain Joshua move into midfield with James dropping back to defence with Dean.

Six minutes into the second half saw Smithswood increase their lead further. A hopeful cross from the right was aimed towards the attackers but the ball took a wicked deflection of Joshua's knee, who could little but watch the ball graze the inside of the post and into the net.

Further pressure came again from Smithswood who were unlucky not to score after a goalmouth scramble in the Raven's box. The resulting scrap to get the ball away gave a chance to Jack Williamson who fired his shot only inches away from the post.

The Ravens, despite the setback of being 3 goals down did come out and attack a little more during the middle period of the second half. A pass from Matthew to Robert saw Joshua charge towards the opposition goal  with Jordan in support but his shot was hit against the defenders legs, the reulting rebound fell back to Joshua who's cross was well dealt with by the defence.

Seven minutes from time and Smithswood made it 4-0. A good shot from Cameron Lee was well saved by Ryan but again the ball fell kindly back to the number 8 who scored from the rebound. Goal number 5 followed two minutes later when from Dean's Goal kick, the ball fell to James Noonan who, running a couple of paces forward, smashed the ball high into the net giving keeper Ryan no chance.

The final whistle blew with the Ravens going down by 5 five goals to the same team for the second week running.
