This was the third meeting between the 2 clubs this season and the game was played on a hard surface due to overnight frost.

The Ravens were without 3 first team regulars, Declan Jordan and James. Joshua was confined to the bench as he tries to recover from his Asthma.

The Ravens kicked off and went on the attack straight away but the attack from Lenie in midfield was broken down by the Northfield defence. Ravens had to work hard, especially in midfield as the pitch was quite bumpy and the players found the ball difficult to control. The Ravens went ahead though after only 5 minutes when Lenie and Jonathan played a one-two between themselves, the ball fell to ashley who crossed from the far side with the ball taking a deflection off a Northfield defender into the net, 1-0 to the Ravens.

Before the Ravens had chance to settle though Northfield scored the equaliser straight from the kick-off. A simple ball down the middle found their striker unmarked who made no mistake in firing past keeper Ryan.

Despite the setback though Ravens again pushed forward and from a throw in on the near side by Lenie, the ball fell to Jonathan. His pass found Ashley unmarked on the edge of the box who fired home with an unstoppable shot high into the corner.

Inspired by this goal the Ravens applied more pressure on the Northfield defence and it paid off after 11 minutes. An attack involving Robert and Ashley was thwarted by the Northfield defence and the ball was played back to the the opposition Goalkeeper. His Kick out though fell straight to Jonathan who shot low and hard into the corner of the net to make it 3-1.

With their tails up, the Ravens continued to push forward, the ever hard working Robert sending a great pass to Ashley who ran half the length of the pitch and shot home to make it 4-1. Robert continued to make a nuisance of himself in midfield and after 14 minutes fired in a low shot from the right which just evaded Ashley and went inches wide of the post. The defence at this time had little to do but any attack Northfield had was broken down by Dean and Matthew.

After 16 minutes of the first half the Ravens went 5-1 up through Jonathan. A push from defence by Dean found Lenie who passed on to Jonathan who, from the edge of the box, lobbed the Northfield goalkeeper brilliantly.

Northfield however were never giving up and still worked hard to try and compete with the Ravens. The hard work was rewarded when they pulled a goal back just befor half time. A pass from the right found the Northfield player in the box who's shot beat Ryan by the near post. Halt time came with the score at 5-2.

Joshua came on for Matthew in the second half and from the kick off, The Ravens began pressing for more goals. This time it was Robert who took the honours after a scramble in the Northfield box. Both Jonathan and Ashley had attempts blocked on the line but Robert made no mistake to make it 6-2.

Manager Mark was forced into bringing off Joshua 10 minutes into the second half after he felt unwell and Matthew replaced him in defence.

Northfield began to get a hold of the game to some extent midway through the second half and continued to press the Ravens defence. Two chances came their way but the shots were well saved by Ryan. It was from a break-away that led to the Ravens making it 7-2. Matthew cleared upfield and a pass from Lenie found Ashley who scored his first hat trick for the club when he drove the ball past the advancing keeper.

After 12 minutes of the second half Robert came close to scoring his second of the game. A brilliant run, beating 2 players was only stopped by a heavy challenge from the Northfield defender. It looked at first that Robert might have been injured but after treatment carried on. Dean too came in for the same treatment after he was hurt by a late challenge while defending a Northfield attack, he too carried on.

Despite more pressure from Northfield it was the Ravens who went 8-2 up when another scramble in the Northfield area caused panic for the opposition defence. The ball again fell to Robert who made sure with a shot low inside the post.

With the game nearly over the Ravens came close again when a short corner taken by Lenie to Jonathan was whipped towards goal but Jonathan's attempt went just wide of the post.

The final whistle blew moments later giving the Olton Ravens their biggest win of the season.
