Northfield visited us on a cold morning with the pitch in quite a bad state with very muddy patches around both goalmouths.

The game started well for the Ravens when after just 3 minutes Jonathan Lobbed the Northfield goalkeeper from 15 yards out to make the score 1-0. This was followed by lots of pressure from Olton with both Jonathan and Jordan going close, only the final touch letting them down. Joshua also went close with a low drive which the keeper held well considering the conditions.

Five minutes later after good work by Robert in the midfield, the ball came across to Jordan who, after a goalmouth scramble with Northfield furiously trying to clear the ball, turned and shot hard past Northfield 's keeper.

With the pitch cutting up quite badly, both teams found it hard going but to Northfield 's credit they battled on. A fierce shot from their Striker was well held by Ryan and Northfield began to exert more pressure forcing 2 successive corners but these were well dealt with by the defence.

A quick move up field starting with Joshua and Lenie resulting in Jonathan scoring number three. From defence, Joshua surged forward along the right hand side, delivering a good pass to Lenie, who was tackled forcing a throw in. Lenie's accurate throw went straight to Jonathan, who hit the ball on the volley straight over the static Northfield Goalkeeper.

Half time was approaching when this time from the left hand side, Dean linked well with Robert and Jonathan, who's hard work gave the ball to Ashley who made no mistake, hitting the ball hard into the top of the net

The second half saw Ashley as Goalkeeper with Ryan playing up front alongside Jonathan. Matthew moved into midfield and Declan was brought on for Dean.

The match continued where the first half finished with the Ravens pressing hard for more goals. Three early corners came to nothing, with only a shot from Joshua coming close.

That changed however 8 minutes of the second half gone. Declan, pressing forward, pushed the ball goalwards, and with 2 defenders close to him, Jonathan, who was on a hatrick, managed to get in a shot which beat the goalkeeper to make it 5-0.

Ravens eased off the pedal a bit after the 5th goal giving Northfield a chance to get back in the game. A hopeful ball punted forward by the Northfield midfield was cleared by Olton, but the ball came back towards them on the right hand side, with the opposition forward getting past Dean, and shaping to shoot, was superbly tackled by Joshua. 

The danger bells were still ringing when Northfield got in another low shot which was well saved by Ashley. Their pressure however paid off when, on the right hand side of midfield, Northfield passed well amongst themselves and created an opening, when the Northfield player, being marshelled by Dean,  did well getting in a shot which looped over Ashley's head and into the net.

Olton had more chances in the last 10 minutes of the game and should have come away with a hatful of goals, but credit again to Northfield , who fought hard and well to keep the scoreline respectable.
